Hi again dear Readers.....have you ever loved your licence photo or your passport photo? I haven't!
I am due to go to renew my licence and it's the new fangled chip one whereby they have all your details on a chip and your picture is embedded into the licence itself not just on it.......well......I am scared.....Just look at the last time I went to the Motor Transport department......it was five years ago.....
My licence was up for renewal and I thought, because previous photo's were just awful, that I would dress very carefully and apply a little extra make-up, just to be sure .........I did just that and looking in the mirror, thought I looked pretty good...(I was always forgetting that I was blind).
So my next worry was that you were not allowed to smile for the photo, so I thought I would practice a semi-smile and I would, just at the last minute, before they pressed the camera button, do my semi-smile and I wouldn't look like a stern old school marm on my licence........
It's all good in theory....in practice when they gave me my new licence, I looked like an idiot with thick make-up on and a smirk on one corner of my mouth.....shine a torch under my chin in the photo and I could have passed for one of those ghouls from a 1930's Dracula film...... Mortified.....absolutely mortified........I cringe every time I have to show someone and you can see the look they give you when they see your licence photo......the little smirk on their faces as they try not to break out into hilarious belly hugging, rolling around the floor type laughter........Bastard Transport Department.....
I'm sure that they go out of their way to make sure we plebs look as bad as possible on our licences......the Post Office are just as bad when you do your passport photos......I was rapt when I got mine as I thought I had four photos to choose from......tricked again.....they were all the same horror photo.....on my passport I look like someone has just dug me up!
So today....I am going to do my make-up with my glasses on and dress carefully again....and I am not going to smirk I have now been practicing the mouth slightly open pose that models do......you know the one? Knowing my luck they will snap the photo while I am positioning my mouth and I will look like a bloody fish.............
Hi, At 59 I am just finding my feet in the world...So exciting! I have learnt a lot over the years.....gone from being extremely hard up to living a very comfortable life and loving every single minute of it.......My boys are grown up and living good lives themselves and I am so proud of them.......I have the best husband in the world (most of the time anyway....hahaha) and I have 3 dogs who I just adore and they adore me...... I try to live by my motto ......"Be like the sun....let your warmth shine through always"
